The SAM has worked on a new, promising project for its future, the Mountain World Centre Project. It lists the following objectives:

• The Mountain World Centre SAM shows how man experiences the mountains
• The Mountain World Centre SAM shows how man lives in and from the mountains
• The Mountain World Centre SAM shows how man explores the mountains and portrays them
• The Mountain World Centre SAM shows how man imagines the mountains
  

Thus the museum encourages the debate about the cultural heritage of the mountains and their significance for man to enhance the quality of life of the mountaineers and the locals.
Our activities focus on topical issues as well as on those referring to the future.
